Pet Refuge

When forced to choose between leaving a pet behind to escape family violence or living a life of abuse, more than 53% of women will choose to stay and suffer to protect their pet. Pet Refuge believes in a New Zealand where pets and their owners don’t have to choose between their safety and the safety of their pet. Pet Refuge provides temporary shelter and care for pets affected by family violence, keeping them safe while their owners escape abuse. Since opening in July 2021, the shelter has provided over 46,000 nights of safety to pets affected by family violence, and demand continues to grow for their services.

IAMS

IAMS have worked with Pet Refuge since 2021, providing cat and dog food for the pets in their care.

IAMS I am safe activation

To help raise awareness and funds for Pet Refuge services, IAMS will donate $1 to Pet Refuge for every purchase of IAMS Dry Cat (1.59kg) product purchased at a Woolworths Supermarket or Woolworths online (woolworths.co.nz) between 30/9/24 – 6/10/24, or at a New World supermarket or New World online (newworld.co.nz) between 7/10/24 - 13/10/24.

IAMS will donate up to a maximum donation of NZD$10,000 in Woolworths & up to a maximum donation of NZD$10,000 in New World (maximum total donation of NZD$20,000). See below for full terms & conditions.

Relevant Parties

  1. The Promoter of this promotion is MARS New Zealand Limited (NZBN 9429032032789) of Building 14, 666 Great South Road, Penrose, Auckland, 1051 (“Promoter”).
  2. The Fundraiser is Pet Refuge New Zealand Charitable Trust of 7 Beatrice Tinsley Crescent, Rosedale, Auckland, 0632 (NZBN 9429047630178), a registered charity (CC53408) (“Pet Refuge”).
  3. Pet Refuge holds all relevant fundraising licenses to operate in New Zealand.
  4. The promotion commences 12.01am NZST on Monday, 30 September 2024 and closes at 11.59pm NZST on Sunday, 06 October 2024 (“Promotional Period”).
  5. This promotion is open to customers shopping at Woolworths supermarkets, owned by Woolworths New Zealand Limited of 80 Favona Rd, Favona, Auckland (“Woolworths”). Please note that employees of the Promoter and Woolworths cannot be excluded from Woolworths promotions.

 

Promotion Details

  1. For every Eligible Product purchased from a Participating Store during the Promotional Period, the Promoter will donate NZD $1 to Pet Refuge up to a total donation amount of NZD $10,000.
  2. Eligible Products are all IAMS Cat dry food 1.59kg products.
  3. Participating Stores are Woolworths supermarkets including online (at https://www.woolworths.co.nz/).
  4. All purchases of Eligible Products will be monitored to ensure promotional assets are removed if sales exceed the maximum donation value of NZD $10,000.
  5. Following confirmation of the total sales of Eligible Products during the Promotional Period based on relevant sales data received from the Participating Stores, the Promoter will make the donation to Pet Refuge.
  6. The Promoter reserves the right, at its discretion, to remove or to introduce further Eligible Products during the Promotional Period.

 

Exclusions and Liability

  1. The Promoter and Woolworths and their related companies, employees and agencies shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained by any person arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with entering this Promotion, except for any liability which cannot be excluded (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum amount as required by law).
  2. The Promoter and Woolworths are not responsible or liable for any loss which is caused by the transmission or receipt of any incorrect information associated with purchases of an Eligible Product, either caused by user error or any equipment or programming malfunction associated with the Promotion.

  1.
