Transporting *Bear
Meet Bear, a gentle giant who needed urgent help. His journey to Pet Refuge began with a desperate call for safety. As one of nearly 30 pets transported across New Zealand each month, getting Bear to safety was the first step toward a new future.
At Pet Refuge, transport is never just about getting a pet from A to B. Every journey is carefully planned with safety, comfort, and logistics in mind:
- Car or air travel? We assess each pet’s physical and emotional needs to determine the safest way to travel.
- Secure handover locations ensure the wellbeing of pets, their families, and our staff—sometimes with NZ Police assistance.
- Weather and road conditions are monitored, ensuring pets travel in comfort, with breaks for water, rest, and reassurance.
No pet is too far. From city centers to more remote locations, we find a way to bring every pet to safety—and home again when their family is ready.
