*Hollie and *Winston

We recently had the pleasure of reuniting *Hollie with her dog *Winston. After a long four months apart the family was finally together, now in their new safe home. Stories like Hollie and Winstons motivate us to do what we do. Ensuring the whole family can escape and care for pets in a way that prepares them for their new, safe life.

"I am thoroughly impressed with Pet Refuge and how they looked after Winston. The communication and updates every week were fantastic. The regular check-ins provided us with a sense of relief knowing he was in good hands; it took away all that extra stress.

Winston has come back from his stay with Pet Refuge so much better than before he went there. Not only did it give him peace, and a break from the chaos of what life used to be for us, but the amount of care and training the team has put into Winston is phenomenal. He is a lot calmer, listens better, is attentive to us and. Overall, his behaviour has been amazing ever since he was returned to us. Winston was a little overwhelmed at first; it took him a few days to settle in, as not only was he in a new house, but being apart for the longest time we had ever been separated meant there were just so many massive emotions all around.

Now, Winston's days are spent playing fetch in the afternoon with my daughter and me, followed by evening snuggles in my bed! These special moments in our days make everything we went through and all the changes we experienced worth it."

"They’re not just cats. They’re our family.

That’s what made Pet Refuge so special – they understood that. They were a dedicated support for the pets. Once we got them into Pet Refuge, I felt like I could breathe again knowing they were safe, warm, and cared for. They even had their birthdays while they were there.

I’ll never forget the support Pet Refuge gave us. In the middle of so much chaos, they kept our cats safe so that our family could stay together" - *Maddy
