As part of our fundraising family, you'll energise friends, colleagues, and communities to raise crucial funds, giving pets in danger and their families hope of a violence-free future.

Bequest

A legacy gift can provide lasting protection for pets. Legacy gifts have a very special place in our hearts as Pet Refuge was founded with a legacy gift from Founder, Julie Chapman’s late parents. Just as their legacy helped us start, your legacy can help us continue providing protection for pets even when their loved ones can’t.  

Shop

100% of profits from our Pet Refuge shop help the pets and families we support. Our Pet Refuge shop gives you an option to support pets in need while also taking care of your own. Buy a dog toy, cat wand, enrichment lick mat, or Pet Refuge T-shirt and 100% of the profit goes to helping pets and families escape violence.

Goods Donations

Each pet arrives with a unique story and different needs, often shaped by trauma or sudden change. Because these needs vary and shift frequently, we are unable to accept all goods donations. Some essentials are kindly provided by our corporate partners, and to protect the safety, welfare, and well-being of pets, we only accept items that are needed. Please read more on our goods donations page to ensure your items can support our pets.

Volunteering

To keep the pets in our care and our shelter team safe, our location is kept confidential. Unfortunately, abusers sometimes try to track down pets to regain control over victims, so privacy is essential. Our secure shelter provides pets with a safe space to heal, which is why we cannot accept volunteers or fostering. You can still make a huge difference by supporting us through events, fundraising, or sharing your skills.

We recognise you may prefer to donate by bank and we want to make it easy for you to support us. To donate by bank transfer, our details are: Pet Refuge New Zealand Charitable Trust 12-3628-0000739-00. For a tax receipt, please email info@petrefuge.org.nz with your donation details. To set up an automatic payment for a monthly gift, we have a separate bank account, please contact us first.
