Where Real Talk Meets Real Estate
Mel supports Pet Refuge by donating a portion of every real estate commission to help keep pets safe, healthy, and cared for. She also creates annual charitable dog calendars, with proceeds helping pets and families in need. Through her real estate work, Mel is helping make a difference for pets in crisis — proving that property can be a powerful way to give back.

To Love a Dog Book sales
Driven by a desire to raise awareness of how pets are used to manipulate and control victims in abusive relationships, this fundraiser shared their story through a powerful book. Every $25 book sold has supported Pet Refuge, with nearly 200 copies sold to date — raising vital funds to help pets and their families escape violence.

BLACK FRIDAY DONATIONS, NOT DISCOUNTS
FourFlax is a premium NZ brand rooted in care for pets, for people, and for our local communities, Fourflax believes that true value goes far beyond discounts. Rather than joining the noise of Black Friday sales, they focused on what matters most: giving back and rewarding loyalty. Fourflax donated $5 for every pet supplement purchase made on Black Friday to Pet Refuge, and rewarded customers with double points.

At The Vets fundraisers
The team at At The Vets Christchurch has raised over $10,000 for Pet Refuge through a series of fundraisers over the past four years. Their biggest event, Santa Paws, is a one-day Christmas photoshoot where pets and their humans visit Santa.

Colleen for Good
Auckland salon colleen’s Hundred-Dollar-Haircut Day sees the team donate their time and talent to raise funds for community organisations doing meaningful work. On November 16, every haircut went towards supporting Pet Refuge and raised an incredible $5,000!

Coatesville Garden Ramble
Pet Refuge was chosen as a charity recipient for the Coatesville Garden Ramble fundraiser, organised by Rotary Albany. Five of the country’s top gardens opened their gates, including the internationally renowned Mincher Garden. With the support of 40 volunteers and 400 visitors, the event raised an incredible $7,000 to help keep pets safe and families together.

HARCOURTS COOPER & CO HIGH TEA
Guests enjoyed a heartwarming afternoon of elegance, connection, and impact at the High Tea in support of Pet Refuge, helping pets and their families escape domestic violence. Attendees sipped bubbles and warm cuppas, savoured delicious treats, and connected with likeminded people — all in a beautiful setting. Raising $2,000 for Pet Refuge.

Milford Foundation’s Buckets of Love Campaign 2025
Helping families struggling at Christmas is the focus of the Buckets of Love Campaign. For every dollar donated, Milford Asset and the Milford Foundation match donations dollar for dollar. The funds were evenly divided between three charities – with Pet Refuge recieving an amazing $66k!

Yoga at the Cathedral
Supporters came together for a peaceful and empowering Yoga for a Cause fundraiser in support of Pet Refuge. The class offered a moment of calm and connection, bringing the community together to stretch, breathe, and give back. Raising $440 for pets in need of safety.

Paint with your pooch
A coat of paint can transform a space. With Dulux, it can change a life. Through August 2025, for every sample pot sold in August $1 was donated to Pet Refuge, raising a total of $12,000 for pets in need.

Cavoodle Moments
Roselle Moments’ hosted a Cavoodle photoshoot with 100% of the profits going to Pet Refuge. The day captured adorable memories while making a difference for pets and families in need!

BEST IN SHOW EXHIBITION
Artist Julia Holden held her art exhibition "Best In Show" with 15% of all commissions and sales going towards helping Pet Refuge's mission. The event raised $1,550.
