could you leave
your pet behind
to escape family
violence?
Give pets a chance at safety today.
Every dollar makes a difference.
Last year, more pets have turned to us for safety than ever before; 246 pets who had nowhere else to go.
In August, we had 79 pets in our care – the highest number we’ve ever sheltered at once. And for the first time, we faced a 49-day waitlist. For families fleeing abuse, that wait can be devastating. Many cannot leave unless their pets can too.
By joining our Safe Beds for Pets family for $30 a month, or whatever you can afford, means every pet receives full care at no cost to the family escaping violence.
100% of Safe Beds for Pets donations cover:
Nationwide Transport
Every pet deserves access to safety, no matter where they are.
A safe bed
A warm, comforting space in our purpose-built shelter.
Veterinary care
Comprehensive treatment, including vaccinations and medical care to aid recovery.
Enrichment and Training
Tailored plans by our expert staff to help pets heal from trauma.
The Reunion
Families stay connected with updates while apart, and the best part? The heartwarming moment when they are safely reunited.
Will you join our Safe Beds for Pets family to keep pets and their families safe from violence?

As pet lovers, ensuring the welfare support we provide benefits them long into their new life is important. That’s why our expert team focuses on mental rehabilitation from trauma with bespoke enrichment and training, and why our program includes comprehensive veterinary care. To date we’ve been able to stretch each generously donated dollar to go above and beyond for pets and families, including offering desexing and microchipping, and a take-home pack including two months of food and flea/worm treatments, personalised training and enrichment notes, and favourite toys, leads, or beds.

Take home packs help families focus on joy and reunion, not the logistics of starting over.
They’ve been part of our reunification care all along, but with rising costs, this additional support is under pressure, and we risk having to cut back to ensure we can keep our promise of helping as many pets and their families escape violence as possible.
